USB modems dont work in 64bit vista?

is this true, if you go onto the Vista 64bit home premium OEM, someone has said, "if you have a USB modem, its very unlikely that it will work in vista."

Anyone on here using a USB modem? i current am with NTL.

Most likely cus it needs drivers.

best thing to do is use ethernet, works with no drivers, and on vista.

I had only used USB modems until a few months ago, but ethernet is definitely the way to go. My USB modem used to lose connection intermittently, but that never seems to happy with ethernet (except tonight when my BT router gave me kittens by deciding to auto-update). Moreover, ethernet is always on - never have to mess about logging in.

Yeap were getting lots of customers coming in daily to complain there BT voyager modem drivers or there NTL modems arent working in Vista, we just advise them to get a router since its plug in and play and no drivers required.

Solves the issue forever/ which is what most customers want to hear...and then there stupid behind comes back to the store complaining its "faulty" when they simply cant configure it
