Hi,

I have bought an:

MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 Mouse
MS Comfort Curve 2000 Keyboard

Now I would have expected this to be plug and play but no! Bot are not responding even after installing the latest software. I have even forced the devices to use the correct driver but the "device cant start" Code 10.

I'm running Vista X64 and my motherboard is an Asus K8N SLI SE (Nforce 4) if that helps...

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Have you tried the peripherals in different USB ports? Both items should be just plug and play, the mouse certainly is under Windows XP although I haven't used that exact model of keyboard. Alternatively as a temporary solution could you use the USB-PS2 adapters you probably got with them?

Both the keyborad and mouse worked fine in my brothers xp setup, witout installing any software or rebooting.

However joysticks etc work fine in my USB ports. And I have tried different combinations on usb ports.

I will follow the guide above and report back (un install all ubs nodes).

When I look at the properties of the keyboard i get:

A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

The keyboard is listed under 'USB controllers' rather than 'Keyboards'

hae you enabled usb keyboards in bios?

I have just looked in the bios and there was not an option ot do this. However I was looking around in the biod on the USB keyboard!

Actually the bios option is for when your not in a full operating system (Like the F8 menu on windows xp).. I guess his motherboard manufacturer turned the option on and removed it from bios.
