Hello All,

Seem to be having a problem with my Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 (USB) on Windows 7. Every now and again, it stops responding to mouse input and the pointer won't move or click. Keyboard continues to work fine.

I've found nothing in system logs, there is no specific event that seems to relate too it happening, and nothing has changed on the system since to cause it happening!

Any ideas where to start tracking it down?!

Thanks

Ross

I have this issue too, I just ordered a new MX518 mouse hoping this would cure it. Not sure if it will yet as the mouse hasn't arrived.

Does the laser/LED keep switching off when it happens?

Have you snagged the wire? I did this on my old MS USB mouse and started to do the same thing and I kept having to unplug it or change USB ports.

It got to the point where it wouldn't work no more and got a new mouse and all was fine.

Maybe the connector is loose? i had a mouse that did this because the connector didnt sit flush in the socket.

Also, are you using a USB extension lead? I always get connectivity problems with those too.
