USB mouse stopped working

Gonna bump this back up because its doing my nut in now >_< is it possible to redownload the generic mouse / keyboard drivers, i dont seem to be able to find them and the product specific ones just arent installing :/
 
Did you get this sorted? You probably could find them online, but I don't know where to be honest.

Do you think there is actually a hardware problem with your USB ports? :/


EDIT: Just a last minute thought - try running "SFC /scannow" from the run line or CMD.

Nah not got it sorted yet, running on PS2 keyboard / mouse atm...will try those CMD commands though see if they work
 
Ran that CMD this morning it finished, no message or anything, will try it again tomorrow as i was getting ready for work as it was doing it...my internet hub and external HD are still plugged in and working fine (1 in front, 1 in back) so i think its more to do with the drivers than the actual hardware :(
 
Ran the CMD again and it does just end, not message or anything...had another search on google and found out something about deleting the catroot2 folder for the system32 folder and letting windows recreate that...done that but still nothing ><
