Usb pendrive speeds?

I am wanting to buy a usb pendrive but not sure what the average acceptable read write speeds are for usb 2 and usb 3.

Can someone help me out with a guide so i know what to look for? Don't want to buy something that is slower than average.

I decided on the Patriot 8GB Supersonic Xpress USB3.0

Hope this is the correct choice.

Yes i did see that and thought about it but will mainly be using it to install win7 from usb, so 16gb may have been a little overkill.
