USB Ports!

Hi guys i have 4 usb ports at the back of my pc and 2 at the front, is it possible that the 2 at the front are not usb 2.0? Is it possible they could be just normal but the back 4 2.0?

Because ive been trying to install the usb drivers for my web cam which requires usb 2.0 but when i try at the front it says windows has found a new piece of hardware which is not recognised?! So ile try using the back ports and it should work

Quite often manufacturers recommend you install the drivers for USB hardware before you plug it into the system. I'd have thought the unrecognised message is because it doesn't have the drivers and doesn't know what it is.
