usb power off?

Hi there

just a newbie question, how to get the power off the external usb hard drive after the pc is shut down?
It connects to the pc at the back, and I wish it stays there but just get the power off after computer is off.
save me a bit time to unplug it

Is it a portable (ie usb powered) or does it have its own power supply?

Can I just clarify something here, you want the external drive to power down when the PC is turned off?

What is suggesting that it is staying on?

All my boards keep supplying power to the USB ports even when the machine is shutdown (but obviously still plugged in to the wall)

I suggest to keep usb hard drive connect to the pc, but without power after pc is shut down, I hope this is more clear, sorry about confusion.
