USB powered RAM

I just got an email through from a rubbish computer company that do not need referencing.

A 4 gig stick of RAM for your pc, what do you think?

I assume this isn't the equivilant of 4gig of Corsair 1066MhZ hyperdrive stuff, but how useful is it? My mate is thinking of buying 3 or 4 and sticking them in a USB hub if he can (he has a laptop with 3.75gig of RAM already!)

Thanks guys, Alex

Does'nt replace ram. Don't get them confused.

This is simply a Vista only enhancement aimed to speed up vista once booted. I dont know how much use the readyboost function is however so that will be for someone else to tell you.

Useful for ready boost on Vista. Small files will load very quickly due to the nanosecond load time. Also useful to transfer files from pc to pc. As a main drive it would be awful.

A normal hard drive will be quicker for your OS and games due to better transfer speeds.

Ooops!!

If any overclockers admins read this, rest assured that PC World is such a joke amongst computing circles, there is no way anyone here would even THINK of purchasing from them. £15 to install RAM! Pfft!

Sorry. !

They are still a competitor and you will find yourself taking a holiday from the forums if you don't.
Considered a joke by many yes.
However their online prices are extremely competitive and most can be "collected in store".

Removed! I have been temporarily banned for swearing before, but my girlfriend of 7 months since then punches me whenever I swear and has stolen all my cigarettes, binned them and banned me from ever smoking again. So I'm a good boy now :)
