Hi, first a huge thx to all who helped me with my pc build, particularly Sir Random. Ok, I have a very odd problem. Sometimes when I put IN or take OUT a USB connector, the pc reboots, and I get back in to a 'serious error' :S I'm using XP PRO, have 2mb-80gb ata 133 HDD. I was having probs with installing a crumby old adsl modem, and then mcafee firewall, ack! had to pee about for 3 hours after I made mistake of a firewall. Anyway, I THINK it's a USB problem, but, also, when I try to initiate certain app.s, it reboots. eg. Zone Alarm, i press button, and it reboots pc :O HL2, FINALLY went trough all the jazz, data unlocking on steam, got 100%, then, go to start game, BOOM! reboot!
Note, I HAVE got HDD and DVD-rom on SAME IDE cable. I was wondering if that maybe causing prob, not USB? Like maybe data from DVD-rom - HDD- USB or something, conflicting? Do I need like, some USB Drivers?
Plzz help guys, I know it's a puzzler. But I'm not clever enough to understand the cause of this rebooting issue
I want to play HL2!
