USB shorts out upon putting something in?

If I put something in the front USB slots it shorts out the electricity to the other USB slots or something, as I was putting my printer connector in the front and as soon as it went in a little bit my USB keyboard and mouse (Razer equip) turn off until I push it all the way in.
You may think this isn't bad, but after this, my mouse jumps and my keyboard misses key inputs.

So annoying! Any ideas?

If it's pre-built PC and still under warranty, then return it for repair.

If it's a self build then:
1. check the cable connecting the front USB ports is correctly plugged in at the motherboard and the daughterboard.
2. Try your PC with the daughterboard disconnected.
3. If you still have problems, then it's likely the onboard USB controller has been fried and you'll either have to use up an expansion slot with USB ports or fix/change the motherboard.
