USB Splitter

After trying to use a kvm between my monitor and 2 pcs and failing (text all blurry) I wonder if there's another route open to me. I can already switch between pcs on my monitor (one plugged in d-sub, the other in dvi). My keyboard and mouse are both usb. Is there a usb splitter available so that I could plug my mouse/keyboard into it and then plug it into 2 pcs?

Only thing i know of is a USB KVM.

That's what I've tried, the pcs work but the text is all blurry and gives me a headache to read! Might have to try another kvm.
