I've been using a SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro Skin USB Flash Drive for the past few years without any hiccups. I purchased a Kingston DT Mini slim 4GB stick to replace this, but the Kingston sometimes wasn't recognised and files would become corrupt.

I'm after:

4-8GB capacity
read/write speeds faster than 12MBs/4MBs
I'll be placing this on my keyring so something 'key-sized'
Rugged construction
Around £15

Closest I've come is the Patriot XT Boost 200X 8GB for £15.

Thanks

200x should give you around 30MB/s read, 10MB/s write.
You're not going to beat the Patriot XT for that budget, though some of the new drives designed for USB 3.0 have some pretty awesome speeds even over USB 2.0.

If you need better write speeds closer to your budget, the Patriot Xporter RAGE uses a quad channel design for 25MB/s writes

Thanks for the reply Zarf. Will take a look at the upcoming USB3 models
