Looking to pick up a couple of USB sticks, around 64GB.
Has anyone any recommendations?

Noticing that

and

are both available for around the same price.
Is one faster than the other? Which is better?
Are rival makes superior?
I know little to nothing about USB sticks, except the ones I have make 10-11mb/sec when transferring large files.

I had looked at that but I was somewhat concerned that the advertised speeds might be utter lies on the part of OcUK.
They seem to be the potential interface speed rather than the potential disk speed.
Unformatted Capacity: 64GB
Max Read (USB 3.0): 85 MB/sec
Max Write (USB 3.0): 70 MB/sec
Interface Type: USB 3.0
Shock: 40G
External Dimensions: 70mm x 24mm

Has anyone got such a stick, does it perform remotely close to these advertised speeds?

lol. you're right. just a quick google on the rainforest and the write speeds are as bad as the kingston drives.

personally i have the sandisk cruzer extreme and that definitely does what it says on the tin. >100mb read *and* write speeds

I can also vouch for the sandisk cruzer extreme, I have the 64 gb version and it's very fast even when using in my computer's usb2 slot.

It has one annoying thing and that's the slide out port which doesn't feel solid. I would have preferred a cap on type.

Sorry to resurrect the thread but I'm in the same boat. I want a fast 64gb stick that won't break within a few months.

All the fastest sticks seem to be cheap and plastic and the nice metal ones are slow.
