USB to Serial RS232 DB9 Adaptor (to console to Cisco's)

DJMK4, the one you supplied requires a driver installed. It's not plug and play. I tried to use one of them the other day.... lost the driver and it actually doesn't have the make or model on the device.

The one paradigm is plug and pray.

I used two of these (PL-2303) for my dissertation at uni, and spent about 2 weeks trying to work out why my data capture wasn't working. One of them wasn't working.
The chipset is cheap and cheerful so expect them to be unreliable.

edit: In fact the one you linked to is the one that didn't work (the screw quality is awful to), there a better model out there, all I can remember was that it was plain black, sorry that's not much help, I got both from the rain forest store.

Ahh already ordered it now, it comes with a driver disk so I am just going to back that up on my server anyway so shouldn't make a difference, I am sure I have seen someone using one in work as I recognise the distinct design.

If worst happens I only lost £1.9something anyway so ill just re-order the one mentioned above

I was going to ask you a Q paradigm as you have always been quite helpful in the past :) I was going to create a new thread but ill ask it in here.

You know with regards to CCNA? is it best to do the IDND1 exam first, then take the ICND2 exam? or just take the CCNA exam in one sit?

I would say it all depends on how familiar to networking you are - if its completely new to you then do them separately - however if you have a bit of networking eperience then I would do it in one hit
