The intel roadmaps that have i7 still being manufactured till at least Q3 2010.

got a copy of the road map. Does it just say i7 or i7 920/940. i7 isn't going anywhere. But everywhere is saying the 920 and 940 to be discontinued.

Things change obviously, but I doubt the 920 will suddenly vanish overnight once the new i5 types show up. Apologies for the quality, I had turn it into gif for another thread last month. You can find the same table on the web, probably even on this forum. A more detailed one recently appeared on HardOCP too.

Lets hope so, but the general consensus is they will be discontinued by the end of the year.

But anyway i9 will be astronomically expenses I will be surprised if it'll be below 800 and probably even more than that and the only change is number of cores and die shrink.

Unless people are insanely rich, I don see why you would wait for it and if you are that rich buy now and then buy when it's released.

the roadmap shows no such thing... Where is the source to that roadmap it seems to contradict all of the latest news..

920 was said to be discontinued soon
i9 was planned for Q1 2010 not Q2 2010

All of the roadmaps lately seem to be contradicting each other...

So basically is it worth buying i7 920 now?

I mean i want to buy the new system on monday but with all these talks about i5 got me thinking to wait till september...if that's the month of release anyways...?is it?

And these DX11 card...i think they arent worth waiting for...

But Core i5 is wrth waiting for....Dont know yet... :eek:

My mind might just snap and i buy core i7 920 next week from OCUK

I say do it, you can wait forever and if your not waiting specifically for something then theres not point. Im waiting atm, cos 1, I dont have the money for a proper upgrade and 2, I want SATA3 and DX11 cards. Then I will upgrade.
