Hello all. I have a 19" old crt monitor, but thinking of buying a 22" HDTV to replace it, i want to use it to replace my monitor and as a TV to play freeview/Ps3 etc. My question is will it work as a monitor/TV and play ps3?
It will work, but that's a very low res for such a large screen with desktop usage (1280x720), it may also overscan HDMI inputs which could mean blurry desktop.
Yes you can use a hdtv as a monitor but check its resolution when being used as a monitor. My 32" Samsung TV "only" has a resolution of something like 1360x768 when using the vga port. I can go higher if i use the hdmi ports but that brings other issues like losing the top and bottom of the screen unless i force some odd reolutions and its not so clear as mentioned.
You might be better off buying a monitor and a tv card for your pc tbh.
