I have an old 120gig ide hdd from my old system (about 2 years old)

Was wondering if I might be able to buy an enclosure and stick it as an external back up drive?

would this work and what enclosure to recommend?

Yeah, sounds like a perfect use for an old drive. Most of the available enclosures will be fine, it just depends if you want to use USB2 only or if you want Firewire as an option.

The IcyBox range looks quite good, they don't have/need a fan in the enclosure which keeps the noise down.

oops just noticed the drive isnt IDE but a 120Gb caviar Sata drive. Do ocuk do an enclosure for sata and usb2 - will this do the trick?
