Used car and clutch warranty woes

As above, i dont think 20k on a clutch is wear and tear - if its less than 90 days you have more room to fight it but you need to make it known to the dealer that you potentially have grounds to reject the vehicle as faulty
 
You probably bought the van with clutch being on its way out. I doubt you have any chance of them repairing it.. just get it done and that'll be it.
