Used car prices

Hi all, what is the best/most accurate places to get price valuations for used cars when buying these days? Looked after parkers and autotrader they gave quite different price ranges, for example on a ford focus 2013 used a reg off an advert and got £1,050 - £1,900 (parkers) and £3,220 - £3,320 (autotrader)

Autotrader are trying to manipulate / push up prices and it costs dealers a ton to list on there so they will tend be on the higher side there - but unfortunately it is having an impact across the industry not helped by the cost of new cars going wild.

So is parkers more accurate?

Parkers are more theoretical numbers, Autotrader more based on what stuff is actually selling but you'd have to look at a bunch of listings / sold cars to really get an accurate idea of what stuff is going for.

Can confirm - I bought a Mercedes EQE for £37k from a dealership recently and found it on, of all places, eBay.

The salesman said autotrader was really expensive to list on, and I reckon it’s why they struggled to sell it despite only having 4500 miles on a 72 plate. It dropped a grand in the month I was umming and aghhing about it too.

I guess autotrader is the go-to for many people, and don’t bother with anything else.
