Was having a look at SubDownloader and it appears for ALL OS (but Windows) it is "freeware," but for Windows it seems to be "Shareware"....why do you think that would be?

No idea. Perhaps that is the only OS they can charge for? Looks like just one Mac build and Linux.

Ah poor thing.

I don't like it as it doesn't have much for me to do now. It used to have lots of articles that were interesting, lots of programs or methods that I had a use for. Now I can go a week and only find 2 or 3 things that interest me.
