Useful Freeware Utilities

Two very useful recent finds:

WinSplit Revolution:

"What is it for? WinSplit Revolution is a small utility which allows you to easily organize your open windows by tiling, resizing and positioning them to make the best use of your desktop real estate."

I'm finding this so useful i can't believe i've gone this long without it. Hotkey combo sends any window straight to the size and position on the screen where i want it.

Bulk Rename Utility:

"Bulk Rename Utility allows you to easily rename files and entire folders based upon extremely flexible criteria."

Does what it says on the tin really. Steep learning curve but everything you need to get the job done!

I'm looking for some sort of FTP software that will synchronise a folder with my web server.
I tried Fling FTP but it moans about having no internet access even though I can transfer single files with it fine.

Any suggestions?
I really dislike updating my site using the FTP plugin for notepad++

Try Filezilla... not 100% sure that it will do exactly what you want. But is a good free ftp client

I already have that and it's not what I want really :/

Basically I want a local folder to be synchronised to my server's html directory, I'm trying to emulate the Cpanel webdisk feature which won't work with Win7 (server uses basic authentication which Win7 won't accept).

I've got a machine which run's ubuntu which i want to set it up as a remote login machine through my lan, this way i can leave the plugged in box in the loft. Which program would you guys recommend?
