If you are the only person to use your PC, do you just have the one account set up with or without a password on your account?

Or do you still create a secondary account as a guest user, and have a password on the main account....

Just curious as to how other people set up their pc's

I have me. Just me. I am the Admin.

I do think maybe there is a seperate administrator account thats hidden (XP) but I dont use it.

Hiya Willbo, I have two accounts, one account being the administrator which is created upon first installing Windows which is password protected and then I have created a second account as a standard user which I use as my main account account which is also password protected.

I'm using Windows Vista. :)

This is the question that UAC was made to answer :)

Myself, single account with UAC enabled to prevent privelege exploitation

Just check, there is a hidden Administrator account, that I forgot to password on install.... logged in, passworded, logged out and will never use again

1 account, the administrator one that came with windows...
+ easy 4 char password, only because it''s ''required'' for remote desktop :(, I hate passys... Anyways nobody really comes near my pc but me or my mates but then I'm there too of course...

THanks for your replies, its nice to know how if anyone else is considerate enough for other people to use their machine or not by creating another account or whether they password protect the one login they do have :)

I would never recommend using an administrator account for normal day to day use. I have an administrator account for important stuff, otherwise I use a normal user account. The g/f has a user account and we also maintain a guest account.

All are password protected.

on my pc's with media on them i setup user accounts with read-only access to the media and use these
