User Profile Cannot be loaded

Hi all

I'm a bit stuck with my grandad's laptop, when I you try to log in on the user account it comes up with the error message " The User Profile Serivce service failed to logon. User profile cannot be loaded." I have looked up how to fix it but you need to access to another account and there is only one on the computer which doesn't work. Help would be much appreciated , thanks.

e: sorry I forgot to say you need to boot into safe mode and then do the above.

I saw that but the problem is that there is only the one user account which has become corrupted so I can't get into windows to try those solutions.

I had this with my Nephews PC. System restore is your friend (best to do this in safe mode). If not, copy your grandads files from his document folder (you need to be logged in as an admin to do this or safe mode again) delete the old user profile and create a new one, put his files back in the new documents folder, job done.
