Isn't it called Bungee Modding?
rubber bands would need carefully setting up/look a bit scruffy, but you cant see the sealant if you put it far enough under the SATA ...totally transparent..plus you can mold it while curing into a very smooth fillet ( for joints), with spit on your finger tip.
the trouble with sealant is, you'll need to cut through it with a surgical blade to remove the SATA, you cant rip it free, it's way too strong....
you'll need to practice with it first...you need to left the surface film semi-cure before it'll mould...............you could use sealant to mount the fans/PSU to the case as well! but you'd need to be pretty skilled first before attempting this

...... would it kill vibrations?........TOTALLY.
but 60% of fan noise is caused by fan guards anyway...the air rushing past them.....
so unless you're going to get really Geeky over this...it might not be worth bothering with..............but the SATA, yes definitely!
most of my pc noise seems to coming from the GPU fan anyway..i cant even hear the PSU
because if you run your pc with no case side, yes it runs very cool indeed, but by God it's noisy

..i can hear my pc from upstairs!
