Using 2 x gigabyte switches?

The way my setup is I have to use 2x gigabyte switches...

Ethernet--------switch-------- Ethernet------switch------- hardware

Seems to work but streaming can struggle at times.

Would there be any issues doing what I'm doing.

Running from one switch would be a lot of drilling, hard to explain

Streaming should not be affected by that at all.

Should be fine, cheaper switches can have issues with throughput sometimes but streaming won't be affected if they are gigabit and negotiating at that.

I have same same setup with 2 gigabit switches plugged in to one and I get gigabit in all locations. Are you use minimum cat5e between the switches?

It's nothing to do with your topology. Either the cables,or something on the machines you're noticing stuttering between is causing any perceived issues, not running two gigabit switches.
