If I install Vista 64bit (OEM) on my laptop can I use my 32bit Vista key that it's using at the moment?

It has come installed with loads of turd and I want a fresh install lol.

Yep, it will.

IIRC the license you bought for Vista doesn't specify whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit... so basically you get to choose I think.

Just wondering why they installed the 32bit on the Laptop, when it's a 64bit CPU :\

Thanks guys it looks like it should be fine then :)

On a similar mote. I'm picking up a samsung laptop on Thursday. I expect it will have a vista recovery disk. Will something like Vlite be able to remove the rubbishy software they always bundle in.

I guess that depends on how they integrated the software etc. into the disk, give it a go and see if vLite picks up the integrated crap.

If not then you could contact Microsoft for a replacement disk, just say you broke/lost yours. They'll probably ask for the CD-key & send you a new one for a few £.

What brand of laptop is it? Some brands have their own version of Vista and XP and their keys often only work with that special version.
