Hey,

I'm wanting to spend over £300 on a ebay item however I would like some decent protection just in case anything should go wrong. So I want to use my credit card to pay for it. Paypal charge a fee for using a credit card and they say either the buyer or seller can pay it. How does this work when actually buying something though?

The fees are a bit high so if I have to pay them I might just use my bank account. I know it's not fair on the seller as well.

It's the seller who has to pay the fee(s). I have my Credit card linked to my PayPal as the primary funding method and buy stuff all the time on the bay. It doesn't cost a penny to pay for something using PayPal and your credit card as the funding method when buying items on eBay.

This doesn't nessessarily provide you any more protection

The transfer from CC to PP and from PP to seller are seperate, you fund your account and your account pays the seller so you are only legally protected if PP scam you

some CC companies will look favourably on any claim though even though they are not obliged to
