Using a PC sub with an Onkyo TXSR309. Possible?

Just grabbed myself an Onkyo 309 before I had the chance to spend the cash on something less useful. Only problem is I can't afford any front speakers or sub for a while. I plan to buy a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.0's in a couple of months and then a second-hand sub a few weeks after that.

My first question is, will I be able to use my old Cambridge Soundworks PC 2.1 speakers in the interim? At the moment I have the speakers/sub running through the headphone jack on the 309. Not the ideal scenario but still a fair bit better than the tinny TV speakers.

I can connect the 2 satellite speakers but is there a way to connect the sub (which is powered) to the AVR?

This is the rear of the sub:

I may be missing an obvious way to connect here but then I'm a total noob when it comes to this kind of thing. I'm hoping it'll be as easy as purchasing a cable.

Thanks in advance.

From the subwoofer pre-out to the spdif digital in on the sub?

No because that would mean trying to convert an analogue signal into digital.

Nightrider's solution is correct - purple subwoofer pre out on the amp to the 'Audio In' port on the sub
