I've been using a 19" TV as my monitor for over 2 years, it works fine.

Been using the HDMI connection, and I think it'll be my monitor for my enw rig until i get a bigger TV...

A Monitor is basically a cheap TV anyway.

More like a TV is a cheap monitor, a 32" telly will cost around £300. A monitor of the same size will be much more due to the expected resolution increase.

It depends on the TV, and you'll be limited to 60fps more than likely due to the 60hz refresh rate.
I game on a 40" Sony KDL40V4000 and I'm fortunate not to have any input lag issues.
I took my PC to a mate's and his 46" Sharp had noticeable input lag (despite putting it in PC mode and disabling any motion smoothing crap).

Depending on how much you're looking to pay for a 32" hdtv, I'd consider looking for the biggest monitor you can find with decent specs.

EDIT: Sorry just noticed that you already have the TV. In that case, just use it until you can get a monitor if you feel it's not up to scratch.

You may wanna have a read over at the AVSForum TV as monitor thread where some interesting things are explained about using a TV as a monitor.

hmmm, I used a non-444 capable TV as a monitor for ages (LG 3D one) and didn't notice any issues - I had renamed the HDMI port as PC and ran DVI-I to HDMI (with sound) and turned off any post processing features and input lag was minimal and games looked great

if you use your home PC for work for hours on end then maybe it would make a difference, but for gaming I don't think you'd notice the difference

Its not ideal, but it does work.
I used a TV as a primary screen for my laptop for over a year with little issues.

So in that case I'm even more correct in stating that a TV is a cheap monitor, no?
OCuk cheapest 30" monitor - £699.95
32" cheap arse LG telly - £200

i use my Samsung 46" 3d tv as my main screen because the black level is much better and image quality looks better... so i sold my Iiyama ProLite B2712HDS 27"
