Using an X Box 360 online through a laptop's connection to a router, possible?

Yup :). I did it by bridging the two internet connections on the laptop and it seems to work fine (I had to change some IP settings though). I tried it on another laptop though and it didn't work so I really don't know what happened.

any chance you could elaborate in detail as im a n00b at this kind of madness. It would be much appreciated, thanks so far guys.

Info on required cables etc and changing of IP settings etc.

I have connected the cat 5 / ethernet whatever cable that fits in my PC's back and the 360.

Now what? Do I have to create a new connection for this?

My old LAN/ethernet connection has a red cross next to it, does that mean the actual adapter is turned off or what?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeelp please.

Right I just got it working and everything was lovely and I came 2nd in my first PGR3 online race BUT....

My friend next door using the same wireless router setup his laptop the same as me (i just had to connect the cable and everything was fine) but he can't join games....

...he can get on live, but when he tries any game it just almost joins a lobby and players can be seen for a split second, but then he gets dropped back to the menu?

Any ideas?

How can I change the bridge connection from 24mbps to 54mbps, as it is on 24 and I think that has something to do with my friends connection not working properly when joining games?

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help, we've tried many things and nothing is working.
