Using displayport & crossfire? Questions!

Hi all,

I just bought a new monitor and want to take advantage of 60Hz. I have just been using DVI cables until now.

I have two 7850's in Crossfire mode. The secondary card (lower one) has display ports while the primary one does not. When I tried to use the displayports nothing happened.

Some questions:

I had read that to use displayport with crossfire it must be one the primary card? Is this correct?

Do I need to swap the cards physically or can I switch them in CCC somehow?

TIA

If you're crossfiring, you can only use the connectors on the top card, so you'll need to put the card with the Displayport connector in the top slot.

If your screens are identical and are all connected at boot up, you might be able to get away without using the Displayport if your card and screens have the right connectors. I've got 2 x DVI and 1 x HDMI connected to my primary card. If your screens are different resolutions then you will have to use the Displayport (and an Active Adapter if your screens don't have DP input). Just a thought.

I am only trying to connect to one screen - a new Samsung curved jobbie. I just want to take advantage of 60hz and hence the Q.

Guess i'll have to swap them around!
