Using EU power plug here in UK

Hi all, I have just won a skype phone from ebay and I noticed after I bought it it comes with a 2 pin EU Plug. Can I just plug this into the mains socket or do I need to buy some adaptor/converter to make it into a 3 pin plug??? Thanks for replies.

You're best off buying an adapter for it. Only cost a couple of quid.

I still use a lot of euro plugs since moving back from Germany to the UK, I just put something (like a car key) in the earth hole to open up the live/neutral holes in the UK sockets. It only gets annoying if you are unplugging or plugging in a lot in which case I'd buy an adapter.

Obviously make sure you know which hole is the earth one though, I'm sure you do.

As Wicksta says - screwdriver or similar in earth slot, then chuck it in.

Could find an interesting tingle bearing in mind the wiring of some buildings in the UK

Adsa sell UK plugs for about 50p or something, a 2 minute job to change if you know what you're doing.

you can get GB plugs that allow you to plug in a 2 pin Euro plug - got some from K... who now only sell from Eire but must be around.

Edit - also search the longest river site - £2-3

Thanks all, yes I know where the wires go in a plug, but the reason I asked is cause it is a transformer power adaptor, so I dont think it is a simple case of cutting the adaptor off and replacing with a standard plug, think I will go down the adaptor route. thanks all for the advice.

Ahhh, plug and transformer are one unit...in that case you will need an adapter.
