OK, I know this is no substitute for real memory inside the box, but since Vista offers it I thought I would try it. Each time I have done so, however, it says my USB Memory is too slow.

Just for the interest has anyone managed to get it to work and what make / model of USB Memory you used? Although some of the devices are more expensive that others, there is no indication as to what speed etc the memory inside is.

Thanks.

Pretty sure the current consensus of opinion is that with anything with over 1GB of system memory wont see any significant increase and as you have 2GB there is little point in bothering.

Just to clearify a few things. :)

A) What you're talking about is the new system built into Windows Vista. It's called ReadyBoost.

B) What it does it add extra cache to your system. Now, this isn't RAM it's disk cache for all your applications ect.

C) Depending on the brand, most newer USB drives will state if they are ReadyBoost enabled or not.

D) As stated by, Dano, most systems, using more then 2GB or RAM will see little to no proformance gain. However this may be different depending on your system's setup.
