I've recently moved back to the UK and shipped my Russian Samsung TV with me and on plugging it in I've realised it can't pickup the analogue or digital signals broadcast here :( Is there a firmware update that will fix this or is a hardware change required? If hardware, what do I need?

Model is UE40C6000. Google was not very helpful.

TIA.

Your Samsung UE40C6000 TV appears to have been available across several countries rather than just Russia. That's fairly common amongst manufacturers. The TV software allows a menu selection for the country where the TV is being used, and hence adapts the TV tuner to local conditions. Once that is set, then the TV remembers its country setting.

It is possible to reset the TV to factory default and so then enter a new country. Do this with the following:

Select Setup - Plug & Play (Initial Setup). Enter your 4 digit PIN number. The default PIN number is “0-0-0-0.” If you want to change the PIN number, use the Change PIN function.

This is from page 7 of the User Manual. These can be downloaded from the Samsung website if you've lost or can't be arsed looking for it.

Let us know if this doesn't give you a UK option. It will help others looking on Google in the future.

Yep, did that first off, UK is available for analogue but not digital so either there is no analogue signal on Jersey (switch off hasn't happened yet AFAIK) or it's a different receiver in the TV which doesn't work with the UK signal. Simplest fix might be a freesat box.

According to Wiki, Channel TV switched over on 17th Novemeber 2010 so not surprising there is no analogue signal.

Russia uses DVB-T2 Mpeg4 for digital TV whereas UK uses DVB-T2 Mpeg2 for SD and Mpeg 4 for HD, so not sure if it will work if the tuner is locked to Mpeg4.

Are you certain that the aerial you are connected to is working correctly and receives a strong signal?

For ease of use, best bet is to get a DVB-T2 tuner which is FreeviewHD compatible so you get all possible channels.
