Using forward and back buttons in Outlook Express

Hi all,

I usually browse through my email messages using the forward and back buttons on the side of my mouse but for some strange reason it has stopped working. I haven't changed anything recently and it only started last night.
A quick search on google hasn't turned anything up and I can't see any options in OE to assign these keys, is it possible to re-assign them?

check the software for the mouse is still loading, as the extra buttons on the mouse wont work without it.
see if there are any updated drivers for it on there website, maybe its a small bug they have fixed in new drivers

you setup or re-assign the extra keys in the mouse driver software not in OE
thats why you couldnt find anything

The plot thickens.

I DLed the latest setpoint software (Logitech mx518) and it seemed to cure it, however, when I restarted the PC (as per the instructions) it stopped doing it again!
