Becuase it's never hot here, and its never freezing cold at night in 'hotter' climates, is it?

HI m8

Your correct but get yourself over to Taiwan or somewhere in Asia like Bangkok or Hong Kong because there climate really is a lot hotter and more humid than ours. What we think is hot weather is just what they get in February/March time and afterall we only get very short spells of hot weather wheras these Far East countries have hot/humid weather nearly all year round. There Summer is mental and as such the thread is very good information for those thinking of buying Goodyear F1 tyres to make sure they get the correct compound for this country.

Afterall I think Goodyear know what they are doing so if they believe two different compounds are required with one for UK/Europe weather and one for much hotter climates out in the Far East then I am confident that the Goodyear guys know what they are doing and have a good reason for doing so. Any tyre shop selling these Goodyear tyres that were originally designed for the Far East either bought them in the know to make higher margins or undercut competitors or were ripped of by their suppliers. Either way considering tyres are a major safety aspect of cars I would certainly want the correct compound in my tyres. :)
