I'm a bit lost as I have got a mini hmdi converter and using a reasonable hmdi lead but I cant get it to display anything to my monitor although if I use a dvi to hdmi converter it will display an image to the monitor.

I'm wondering what am I missing here as I'm totally at a loss unless the mini hdmi adapter is broken.
 
Its that LG DM2780D 27" 3D monitor, has vga & hdmi, not gonna use the vga as the picture is poor using that so I decided to try the hmdi route. As said it works going from dvi to hdmi but ni pic is displayed when using teh cards hdmi out to hdmi on teh tv
