using lego for a case

Preliminary mock up was horrible. I'm obsessed with keeping my PC quiet (despite the raptor drive) and this lego build was anything but.

I basically just mad a little mobo stand but it sucked.

Creaky, rattly, ugly.

It's a nice idea but I wont be wasting any more time on this. Shame really.

Lots of rubber standoff washers would minimise a lot of the noise I imagine. If you've got lots of the lego pneumatic hoses, you could cut a mm length off and put it over the lego axles and mount stuff on them.

Its not the hardware in the case, its the creak of the bricks that did it noise wise.

I might give it another bash in a month or so as I'm too busy at the moment.

I'm thinking of a purely technic construction, very open, kind of just a glorified test bench aka MDF with mounts, aka antec skeleton.

brilliant idea, always wondered what to do with the lego/technics in the loft, seeing as ive just upgraded too i got a whole setup to put in it :D

ive got about 2 boxes ( recycle container size) if this too :P

everyone has a few tonns of lego in the attic, you cant beat it! its just the best toy ever made! would lvoe a technics case, if you get the mental mindstorm stuff you cuold have little pneumatic vents that open up when temps get high XD or something silly like that, id love to try it!
