Using Livebox as a router with separate modem

I have an old Wanadoo Livebox from back before they got taken over by Orange. We have now decided to switch internet providers and I can't find a way to get the Livebox to connect to another service provider (I didn't really expect to be able to) so I am just using the new modem with a wired connection at the moment.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can set up the Livebox to use the new modem instead of its internal one and still be able to connect wirelessly to the internet through it? Or even if I can reconfigure the internal one to connect to the new ISP?

If not I will be in need of a new wireless router that will either use the new modem or with an internal one I can use but I don't really want to spend too much on it so if anyone could recommend one I would be greatful.

Thanks

Netgear DG834GT with DGteam Firmware, will beat the livebox with anything. Awesome router, cheap too.

No, you can't configure the LiveBox to use anything other than the built in modem as its WAN interface.

Thanks, I was afraid that would be the case, was just hoping I could avoid the expense of a new router.

You can pick up a sky branded DG834GT of a well known auction site for around £15. There are loads of guides on how to flash it to use the DGteam Firmware.
