When using Outlook to send multiple emails to many senders (not spam) I realise that all addresses in the To: and CC: can be seen by all that recieve the email.

But when you use BCC: If I've understood this correctly,
To: A
CC: B
BCC: 1;2;3
When this is sent A & B will recieve the email and they will both be able to see who else has recieved it also but they will not know who was entered in BCC (1,2,3).

+ What I do not know is this... will each of the addresses mentioned in BCC (1,2,3) know that each other have also been copied into it also.

+ Also those entered into BCC, will they see any addresses entered in To: or CC: when they recieve the email? Hope this makes sense

You're correct on all points. A and B will see the message and know that each has been sent a copy of the message, but will be unaware that 1,2 and 3 have also seen the same message. 1 will not see that 2 or 3 has the same message, but will see A and B has it also.

Anyone on the BCC list will see the To and CC lists plus only themselves in the BCC list. In other words if you want to hide the entire mailing list then put everyone in the BCC list.

BCC recipients will see all the normal information about the mail - time sent, sender, return address etc.

Hi Senture
Thanks for the speedy reply. What I'd ideally like to do is send the jokes I have recieved at work to my friends outside of work, but I do not want to disclose my work email address to anyone outside of work in case it ends up attracting spam and junk mail. All emails from friends in past have had multiple email addresses entered in the To: section. Is it still possible to send emails to all friends outide of work into the Bcc: without my full work email address being disclosed?

Standard SMTP email lets you set whatever you want for the "From" and "Reply To" addresses. I'm not 100% sure how you do that in Outlook without setting up a new profile which you may not have the authority to do. Some kind of web based email (hotmail, gmail etc) might be an easier option.
