Building a rig for a friend, he's using his TV as his monitor (no idea what tv, he says it has a VGA port).
Will he be able to use the sound given by his TV for his computer? Using this mobo (onboard sound/video):

What cable will he need, will a VGA cable be sufficient for both sound and visuals on the TV?

Ordering the parts tomorrow, as it's an i3 build, and they're on offer atm :p

VGA cable will only carry a video signal. If you use a Video card that has a HDMI port (and the TV has one) then it can carry both video and sound.

If the TV has HDMI,all you need is the HDMI lead.
If it only has VGA or DVI,you will need to check does it have a 'PC-AUDIOIN' or something like that, then you need the VGA/DVI cable and the 3.5mm cable you linked above.

By the way 1m is pretty short but it might do.HDMI cables aren't flexible at all.
