using video in on a x1800xt

Hi,
If you have WinXP Pro you could use Windows Movie Maker to capture video. Think you will need to have WDM drivers installed. I have not tried it with my x1800 xt but it worked ok on my last pc.

Geoff.

Thanks,

not really looking to capture, just to watch tv. Is there any way to watch what's being input? Surely there must be a way, what's the point of having video in then. I've done it with a tv card in the past, it should work with a gfx card, shouldn't it? :(

Dont think you can do that, as far as i know you can only connect your PC up to your Tv, so it displays on there instead of your monitor.

The X1800XT does have video-in (has AVIVO) which means you can capture video from an external source. Not sure if theres anything specifically for "viewing" the video-in source, but I'm sure its possible. Try out the the software available from the ATI site and also software that may have been bundled with your graphics card.
