UT 2007 concerns

Personally I think that as more and more people are getting into multiplayer gaming, the emphasis will shift more towards the casual, dumbed-down side of things. At the end of the day, devs/publishers want to sell games, they don't really care if games are shallow and shunned by a few 'l33t' diehards still playing older titles.

Unfortunately a good point :(. I've never really seen the PC as a platform for pickup and play style games but I guess as we get more ports of console stuff along with cross platform all playing together things will change.

Stop stirring c0w or I'll walk up the road to your building and dob you in as a forum addict.

Yea ill stop, seems people cant see the little " ;) " i put after my sentence to show its meant in jest

Trick jumps are fine, but I hope there is a 'jump stamina' meter. Bunny hopping is rubbish. Yes a good tactic- you're hard to hit. But still rubbish. I'm all for the mutator where the different races had slightly different stats. Those cat dudes could have larger jump stamina bars, but perhaps move slower when holding the larger weapons, or have a little less health.

to many bugs in ut2004, i played it for a longggg time, went through a brilliant clan. and eventually put it down, i may pick up again soon.

Bunny Hopping is always going to be there, as long as people think it makes you harder to hit, tbh most of the people playing UT2k4 find it easier to hit Bunny Hoppers, it just makes you laugh on voice comms, because of all the different tricks / jumps / boosts they have to use, they pick the Bunny Hopping.

The difference in skill won't be too bad, there's always ladders and cups for the highly skilled people out there, and you'll always find a l337 player pwning n00bs, but they normally get bored and look elsewhere for their fun. Also there's the pickup channels if you want a high skilled game, everyone who's played any game long enough, know where to go for an easy match or complete pounding. The newer people will soon learn, and hopefully it won't put them off the game. They just have to remember than when a new game comes out, everyone is a n00b, (until you've played it solidly for 4 days straight ;) ). With a bit of luck they won't delay it for much longer. I reckon they should bring out a no vehicles game with just TDM and CTF now, and when they've finished fiddling with all the vehicles either put out a massive patch or an add on pack.

Lo Wispy m8 :D you get everywhere, are you still playing ut2k4 then? I got a bit tired of it tbh and reloaded ut2k3 for some all weapons fun.

Catch ya in ut2k7 m8 ;)

Lo m8 long time, I tend to lurk about everywhere, but new here :)

Still playing UT2k4, in a new clan called Goat now. Hanging on for UT2k7, if it comes out in March I'll have had it on pre-order for 2 years :D See you around March 2007 then ;)
