Hi

Thought I'd play through a classic, that bein Unreal Tournament GOTY.

So I install updates and bonus packs, and open the game, it runs so fast.. it's like it's running at 8000FPS, takes like 3 seconds to load up to menu skips through the intro that quick lol

How do I fix it? :\

Hi there

Give this a try

1. Create a shortcut to the UT .exe

2. add " - cpuspeed=XXX" where the x's are your speed in mhz, ie. for a 1.3 GHz you make it - cpuspeed=1300, remember the spaces.

hi everyone, did not want to start a new thread, but I'm having the same problems

Running a AMD X2 2.2 Duel Core, 2 Gig Ram and 2 x BFG 7800 GTX graphic cards, running the latest version of gfx drivers etc and the game is fully updated

It is either very fast with "warping problem" or very slow, the gun fire from the gun sticks there for a few seconds also and theres one or two other problems

I've tried to fix this by playing with all the settings, disabling V-Sync etc etc but nothing I do seems to sort it.

Anyone any ideas?

As stated above, speed issues in UT are 99% of the time associated with dual core systems, try setting its affinity to one core.

i found out that it is caused by coolnquiet / speedstepping, it times itself via the cpu's speed, and so if it it lower when the game boots up, it runs way too fast...

Thomo has the right fix.

ok cheers guys for your help, managed to solve 99% of the problem, however there is still a slight problem with the sound on some levels, but I can live with that.

A mate of mine was saying that all the maps from the original UT can be played on the 2003/4 version? is that right?

You'd have to at least open them in UnrealEd 2.0 and convert them since the files are a different type.
