UT04 Loads Quicker from External HDD

I just got a 2tb seagate external hdd from the purple shirt place for £70, I wasn't expecting it to be any good at loading games but I thought I'd install ut04 on it just to see what it was capable of.

Ut04 loads far quicker than my internal hdd...I'm getting 32.5 mb/s transfer according to hdtune.

Does that seem normal? Its a western digital 7200rpm 400gb drive from some years ago.

"Should" be at least 50-60MB/s IMO

Ah would that be with usb 3?

I have only a usb 2 motherboard and its a usb 3 drive...I think I have it right.

I get 75 MBs transferring data from my internal WD 3tb green drive on sata 2 to that said drive on USB 3.

Well worth the money

Have you defragmented the drive?

Modern GB + drives are well over 100MB/sec

USB2 is around 40MB/sec

If the USB drive is far faster then could be fragmentation. I've used mydefrag before
