I've always kind of overlooked Unreal Tournament 2004 in the past but I installed the demo last night and quite enjoyed it (although theres only 1 playable server).
I've had look online and it can be had for £10.
Anyway could someone with the game please tell me how many low ping populated servers there are at the moment, and possibly at peak times, as if there is quite a few ill be making a purchase in the next few days. :D

Hey :) I still play it from time to time, I have around 5 low ping servers in my favourites which are pretty much always populated, the busiest is usually the DEMO Rankin server which is probably the one you played.

There's quite a few mod servers still going too with things like the matrix mod, but that's a bit rubbish if you ask me.

I think it'll still be reasonably popular until UT3 comes out :)

Only 5 low ping servers total or just your favourite ones mate? To be honest I was hoping for a few more (including good ping euro ones etc):p
 
No there's more than 5, but they're all pretty good so I don't see the point in straying away if you're not into the mods like I'm not.

I couldn't put my finger on how many there are but there aren't many, I wouldn't say more than 20 low ping servers to be honest.
 
Ah I get what you mean about the mods, same thing has happened on Halo.
I think it'll still be worth buying for a tenner.

Well I managed to get the Unreal Anthology today and must say I love it. Been playing on UT2004 for a few hours and get quite good now :p

Anyone got any good server Ip's?
 
UT2004 is a great game.

Still quite popular today. Me and my mate were addicted to this for years. Some great DM action.
 
Hmm if there's enough of an interest I might try to get a server running as I plan to get back into mapping pretty soon.

Would be a boat load of fun :)
 
Nothing like a good fragfest. I play it with speed to 1.2 and instagib on with unlimited kills on a 10 min match. With enough players theres plenty of carnage.
 
OMG i see a frag fest a brewing.

I got into UT quite late, got into a clan that fell apart got my own server and then got bored, great game none the less.

Might have another go

We had a game a month or so ago which turned out to be very popular.

I just bought this the other day, to be honest I was only interested in the Mod Videos but after messing about its actually pretty good fun, If anyones up for a fragging let me know which servers you play on :)

Did you make any of your own levels ?

I was interested in learning about that, Im going to try and learn to model characters and stick them in the engine. I was going to buy a book about unreal level making but I might just wait until UT3 comes out.

I did, not anything particularly amazing though but I plan to have much more of a go this year.

I got that book, still haven't actually done anything with it :o

The new UT3 book on Level Building is going to be 1700+ pages :eek:
