UT3 freezing for a few seconds?

Hi,

UT3 runs as smooth as silk on my PC apart from 1 problem. On a couple of maps the game will freeze for say 5 to 30 seconds and then it recovers and runs fine again. There is no HD activity during the freeze and it doesn't happen on DM maps. It happens in single player so it isn't lag.

Any ideas?

Is a pretty well known issue with the 8000 series I think. I believe nvidia / epic are working on it. There's a big thread about it on the epic forums

Its vista that causes it, im back on XP and dont get the freezes anymore

I play it on my 8600GT, theres a few problems with mine also, but I updated to the latest forceware last night on L-Video2go and i've been playing DM this morning all fine.. performence is better too...

I'm using 169.25, isn't that the latest?

Just avoid gateway cause it does the same thing

Worst for me is torlan. It always happens when I'm coming down the hill with the orb... I think I need to learn to navigate from the base to the prime node without seeing or hearing anything...
