I`m having problems creating a one touch restore bootable cd with Acronis (essentially it boots and restores an image to hdd) and I need to access the files that Acronis creates on the disc, I can see the actual image file it uses to restore but I cant see the exes etc that are used to do all this, are ther any utilities that allow this?

no one?, or am I being stupid lol?, the CD must have boot logic on it and surely there is something that would let me view this?, like the system sees it as it boots from it doh, must adhere to regular CD filesytem convention etc?

my acornis boot cd's always appear empty in windows

not sure if this works...

try going into folder options and enabling hidden files, then system files

create the iso, then try opening the iso file with 7zip or mounting it

it is strange that it appears blank in windows, just one of those things that I 'just accept' with it :p

thats what I was thinking to try, will have another look at it tomorrow, the reason I`m trying this is I have an image that works fine, (thinstation linux with citrix client), however when I create the same image except save it to CD using Acronis (so I can create a one click restore disk for colleagues/users to perform a quick image if neccessary) when I attempt this restore it fails to boot with 'boot error', I have seen this before with Acronis and it was an issue with imaging larger hdds to smaller ones.
Anyways I CAN see the actual image file on the CD so even if I could 'open' the CD and replace the image (the one that doesnt boot, created on CD by Acronis) with the one I use I could try that, its one of those infuriating issues that you know ther MUST be a solution to but it could take hours or weeks

what I do is keep the acronsi boot disc with ONLY acronis on it

you can then boot from it, remove the disc and then burn to a new disc, or to external drive/network etc

not quite sure what you're trying to do..

I have the image available on a NAS and it works very well, however burning the same image to a CD then using one click restore, (this is an option within Acronis where you also have the image on the cd with the acronis boot as well, then when u boot from it u can simply click once and it images the system) the images system fails to boot, now this should not happen as it is the SAME image that is used no problem when restoring from NAS

just for an update, I have created Acronis boot media with image incorporated within it, the image restores fine using this method (the standard Acronis Boot environment and point to image on the same CD) but when selecting 'one click restore' which uses the exact same image it fails to restore and gives a boot error......
