Utterly naive weights question!

There's a voice that keeps on calling me.
I feel really stupid for asking this question, but when lifting do you include the weight of the olympic bar in your total?

Im currently starting the SL 5*5 routine,and since I now train at a gym I racked up the 50kg and found it a bit tough, which I expected as i'd not trained in a while.But then I thought, the bar has to be nigh on 20kg, does that have to be added into the total or what!?
 
Pretty conclusive then.whilst im pretty ****ed today, im quite pleased that I could do 70kg squat 5*5!

I think he means your muscles can't read. It doesn't matter whether it was 50k or 70k as long as it was hard.
