Apparently VM have started to roll out an update for their V+ box.

Has anyone had it yet?

If you have, when you turned your box on this morning it would have been on channel 999.

I can check when I get home but it won't be until later tonight.

What is the update for? No doubt it WON'T fix the ridiculously slow channel changing and control lag.

It would be nice if they stopped my internet going down once a day every week as well :mad:

Hi all,

I'm pleased to confirm that yesterday morning we downloaded the new V+
software release to the Crawley and Southport areas. Over the coming days we
will deploy to four further pilot regions - Swindon, Warwick, Wessex and
York.

Whilst customer pilot is the final formal stage in our software release
process before we deploy to all customers, issues can be found during this
phase which lead to the software going back into development. Because of
this we won't announce full deployment dates here until the pilot is
successfully completed.

Well mine was on channel 999. Nothing seems different. Still slow as ****. Internet is still dodgy. The only thing that works properly is the phone. I hate Virgin Media.
 
The people who are testing the new update are reposting super fast channel changing, and when you press the standby button, it actually powers down fully.

Not sure what else is in the update yet.

I think we''ll notice when we've been updated then! The channel changing is dog slow, it will be great if it is speeded up.

Mine is still as slow as ever and I had the channel 999 thing when I got back the other day. Does that definitely mean the update installed?

I would love fast channel changes.

The thing i was worried about the most when ordering my VM was this dreaded slow channel changing. It really isn't as bad as people are saying, mine change fast enough.

New Software version is 3.1.6.1
New Application version is 11.3.2_ukcable

When you put the box into standby it actually powers down totally, then kicks back in to record set programs if you have any.

The code download isn't going to happen in most of the UK for at least another few weeks, we've had updates that only a few selected areas have had the 'tester' to make sure that it doesn't cause any problems - funnily enough there has been so it requires a bit more tweaking before anyone else gets it!

Will keep you posted, as soon as it's ready to be rolled out I'll post the dates.
